Two Apple iPhone 6 smartphones each running iOS 9 Beta 5 and iOS 8.4.1 are competing side by side on a speed test. Which iOS performs faster on the iPhone 6? Let’s find out.
Although we didn’t know which phone had which OS first, it was later revealed that the iPhone6 which loaded the home screen first was running iOS9 Beta5. The difference was only marginal. But when the screen was swiped down to reach the app search screen, the iOS Beta 5 showed a slight lag over the iOS 8.
When opening the app store, both iPhones took a long time to open the app but the Beta5 won ultimately. The win of Beta 5 over iOS8 was visible even during other similar clicks inside the appstore. Something that should be mentioned is that they were both performing on the same Wifi during this test. A further Geekbench benchmark test was conducted as well in which the iOS 8.4.1 obtained a slightly higher score over the iOS 9.
Some new features found in iOS9 that caught my attention are the search feature in the Settings menu, a low power mode to save your battery life, and also the multitasking screen. But since this is still in its Beta stage we can expect more changes. So stay tuned!
